Timothy Landis, MSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Colorado with over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults of all ages and cultural/socio-economic backgrounds. He specializes in identifying strengths and assets with all individuals and families. His focus is on resilience and overcoming life’s challenges. He primarily uses systemic-strategic family therapy, solution-focused and cognitive-behavioral approaches in his practice to address:
● The vast array of problems encountered by many couples and families;
● Defiance, poor school performance, and other challenges presented by children and adolescents.
● Problems that arise when children have difficulty paying attention, focusing and staying on task.
● Adult and child exposure to domestic violence;
● Surviving and thriving after experiencing abuse;
● Recovery from serious and persistent depression, anxiety and other major mental illness.
Mr. Landis is also available to consult with and/or provide trainings for groups or organizations regarding their: screening and response to domestic violence, methods for individualizing treatment, interagency collaboration, diversity and stress management.

* Private Psychotherapy/Consultation Practice beginning in 2000. Specializing in systemic couples/family therapy, solution-focused approaches and cognitive-behavioral methods. Work with children, adolescents and adults of all ages and cultural/socio-economic backgrounds. Provided consultation and training for many organizations on issues related to domestic violence, stress management, diversity, positive masculinity, interagency collaboration and how to build resilience in children and adolescents. Created and own Problem Solving Conversations, LLC and Problem Solving Consulting, LLC. Began working with Associates in Behavioral Counseling in late 2008.

* Program Supervisor for West Central Mental Health Center 2007-2008. Oversaw wraparound process and early childhood programs.
* Program Director for a youth and family services agency 1996 through 2004: Oversaw foster care, family preservation, day treatment and family-centered therapy programs.
* Program Director for Pikes Peak Mental Health Center 1990 through 1995. Developed and oversaw an outpatient child and family program with over thirty mental health professionals.
* Director of a comprehensive interagency collaboration designed to improve the overall system of care for seriously disturbed youth of the community 1989- 1990.
* Supervisor and caseworker for a County Department of Human Services from 1978 to 1987.
COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES:
Provide consultation for the Colorado Department of Human Services to local county departments on issues related to their response to domestic violence.
Helped create and build MAVA (Men Against Violence and Abuse) 2005- 2007.
Facilitated a local Domestic Violence Task Force in 2006 to early 2007
